Women's updates

Well, this could be last update I write as Women’s Club Captain – the two years have gone by very quickly.

We have a busy month ahead and then we will be looking forward to Christmas and 2019! I have had a very enjoyable two years as your Club Captain and would like to thank you all for your support over this time.

Suzelle’s Tournament (Wednesday 31 October)

If you haven’t entered, get your entry in quickly. This is on Wednesday 31 October with a shotgun start at 8:30 am. This is our main fundraiser for the year and it would be good to have as much support from our own club as we can get. I look forward to seeing you there.

2019 Pennants (or Interclub Competitions)

If you would like to play pennants or interclub please let Liz Wood or Isobel Holdaway know a.s.a.p. as we have to make a decision about how many teams we can realistically put in. You may not be available to play all the games but if you would like to play or may be able to play some, please let us know. This is good experience for all golfers and it is good to play other courses and meet other golfers.

Presentation Days (Saturday 3 November and Tues 6 November)

These are Saturday 3 November for Saturday players. Extra tee times have been booked for 8.30 am start on Saturday and golf will be followed by presentation of trophies for the year. Tuesday Ladies Presentation Day is on November 6th – shotgun start at 8:30am. There are sheets up in the ladies locker room for Tuesday ladies to put their names on.

Shoot Out Final ( Sunday 4 November, 7:30am start)

You will be phoned this week to confirm that you are available for this event. Once again a big thank you to the volunteers – Sally Bryan, Jennifer Hartley, Robin Symes, Liz Wood, Kay Nelson, and of course our sponsors - without you this event would not take place. It is always fun and of course to see who is last person standing.

If you have not entered this year make sure that you do next year.

Champion of Champions (Sunday 11 November)

We have players entered in this competition which is being played at our Club. Congratulations and best wishes to Kathy Olsen, Trish Macklow, Robyn Stallard and Gayle McLennan.

Working Bees

We have had a number of working bees recently where the trundler sheds were cleaned out, the driving range wall was washed down and the silver was cleaned. Many thanks to those ladies who were able to join us and also to those who gave their apologies. The jobs were done well and in good time – a couple of hours on each day – well done and grateful thanks.

Elizabeth Horne Day

Early in the month we had a very successful day’s golf and an excellent fashion parade. Gave us a good look at this year’s colours and styles. We are very grateful to Dot Toogood and her team for her time and effort in putting this show together and continuing to support the club. A big thank you also to the models who are so happy to model the clothes. It all goes to provide a great day’s outing.

Good golfing ladies and enjoy the course.

Regards

Julie Brangwin
