Women's Update
Allow images

Winter has definitely arrived and brought some decent frosts. Remember, if you have booked an early morning game you should check the start sheet online for any updates to start times.

Let’s start this newsletter with some good news.

Crossman Cup

The final round of the Crossman Cup was played on Sunday. Results announced were:

Fourball Trophy Hastings won with 10 games (Napier second with 9 ½ games)

Singles Matchplay Hastings second with 18 ½ games (Napier won with 21 ½ games)

Congratulations to everyone who contributed to the team’s success.

As the final was played at Hastings, the Hastings team had a bye, so not all players were available to receive the trophy. Thanks to Martha Manaena and Wendy Nichol for representing the club at prizegiving.

Pennants

There are still two rounds to play in this competition. Hastings Bellbirds are well positioned after the first seven rounds, with Hastings Tuis not far behind.

Association Day

This tournament run by HB Golf is being held at Hastings this year, next Monday 15 July, with a shotgun start at 9:30am. As it is being held at our home club it would be nice if we can get a large turnout for the event, there is a start sheet in the ladies’ locker room so please add your name if you are able to play. Entries close this Thursday.

HB Golf apologies for the late notice.

Entry fee is $15 for 18-hole players or $8 for 9-hole players, and $2 for the twos competition.

All players should bring a small gift (bottle or jar) wrapped in newspaper for the prize table, this ensures that everyone goes home with a prize.

Mona Hunter Tournament

This is a long-standing annual tournament played between Napier, Hastings and Waipukurau and this year it has been scheduled for Monday 19th August at Napier Golf Course. Please add your name to the start sheet in the ladies’ locker room. Napier Golf has asked us to provide numbers ASAP so that they can book the tee times.

Matchplay

Thanks again to everyone for playing their matches on time, this certainly makes it fair to all.

As usual it is protocol for the player listed on top to arrange the match, but if you haven’t heard from them feel free to contact your opponent so that all matches can be played by their due dates.

Once you and your opponent have agreed on a date for the match, any decision to defer the match to another day must be mutually agreed by both opponents prior to play.

Club Champs

I am finalising the draw for these matches now. There is still room for a few more entries, so if you would like to play please let me know ASAP.

Keep warm, and good golfing.

Liz
