Congratulations to Brin Haward and Mandy Kimber who won the Newbigin Foursomes.  This event has been running for many years and it is always a fun event.

 

The event was also the last of the new mixed series which was run throughout the year on the last Sunday using a variety of formats.  Winning for 2019 were Barry and Trish Macklow who will be presented with the Spencer Goblets for this victory.

 

There has been some discussion about having a summer mixed series too which the golf committee will look into, if not for this summer, next.  We hope that everyone has enjoyed the mixed programme this winter and are looking forward to playing in 2020.

Congratulations to David Howie for winning the RC Thorp competition.  This is a Par event played off the black tees.  It was a four-way tie at -2 for the event and David won on a countback.

 

Congratulations to Dylan Bagley who won the Mulholland Cup.  This is a handicap event contested off the black tees. 

 

Twilight 

Twilight Golf is kicking off again on Tuesday 8th October, $6 for members and $12 for visitors.  AJ will have the shop open until 6:00pm to allow for later tee times. 

Come down after work and bring your friends for a hit.  There will be no cafe available after play put drinks and nibbles will be available from the pro shop.

 

Bring a Beginner 

Friday 15 November is our Bring a Beginner night with a shotgun at 5:30pm.  A mixed foursomes (alternate shot) event and a chance to get someone you know into golf.  A social evening of 9 holes having some fun. 

This year Pam Robbie and Kay Brown from the Robbie Brown label (pictured with club captain, Liz Wood) were the sponsors for a women's tournament on 24th September.  The 18 hole and 9 hole ladies had a great time with an interesting format of Texas Scramble followed by lunch and wine!

 

A fashion show of the Robbie Brown range of clothing to finish off the day was exceptionally well supported.  Pam and Kay were thrilled with the day and are already planning for 2020 to be an open event to any ladies wishing to play.  It could be a great excuse to get some friends from outside of Hawke's Bay here for a spot of golf!

The first installment of your membership subscription year has been issued.  Thank you to the members who have already paid (on the first day!), it is appreciated.  These are due for payment by 31 October 2019.

 

Our preferred method of payment is direct credit (please include your membership number as a reference), alternatively eftpos is available in the office.

 

If you wish to arrange a payment plan via direct debit please get in touch with Fleur in the office ASAP to have this setup.

 

The office will be open for the next few Saturdays from 9:00am - 12:00pm for any weekend players wishing to pay in person.
