President Update
April 2025
At our 30 April 2025 meeting the Management Committee were presented with the results of the recent members survey. It was not a small task for Michelle to collate the 316 responses and she has summarised these responses well.
We were particularly pleased that your rating of the key areas of the golf course was so high. As expected, the fairways and greens are your top priority.
The bunkers seem to be your main area of concern. This morning, I met with Ben and I asked him for his comments on this. So far this week his team have spent 46-man hours on bunker maintenance. Considering the age of the bunkers and the fact that there is no separation between the sand and the ground below they make as much effort as possible to make sure the bunkers are in the best possible condition. Rebuilding the bunkers is desirable but this would be extremely costly.
The results of the survey are attached.
The golf club is required under the Incorporated Societies Act 2022 to file a new constitution. Our current constitution was dated 2017. A draft constitution (containing very few amendments) has been updated by a working group from the Management Committee including the General Manager and this was approved by the Management Committee and is ready for our legal advisors. It is envisaged that the Special General Meeting of members required to approve the constitution will be held in late June.
Winter is here obviously – real golfing weather!
