Tattersall-Dixon and Grieve Salver this weekend
This weekend sees the qualifying round for the Tattersall-Dixon of which the top qualifiers will win the Grieve Salver.
Both trophies are long standing mixed club competitions with the creation dating back to the 1960s. Captain of the time, Sid Dixon promoted holding a tournament involving members of both men’s and ladies’ clubs (back when they were very separate). The ladies’ club captain, Marjorie Tattersall, was very enthusiastic about the idea and the Tattersall-Dixon was born with 50 couples entering the event.
Records show the big breakthrough was getting permission for those couples who played in the event on a Sunday afternoon to be allowed to use the upstairs bar, as at the time the ladies had their own lounge and bar and were seldom allowed upstairs!
Pleasingly the clubhouse is all inclusive these days and it would be great to see as many couples as possible playing this Sunday, can we get to 50?
The leading qualifiers receive the Grieve Salver, donated by Doug and Joyce Grieve.
Enter by contacting the Pro Shop as these tee times have been reserved for the competition.

Early Morning Tee Times
As we have commenced the winter tee times there are some days where the start time on the tee sheet has been pushed out.
Part of the ability to keep the course in great condition is the ability to allow our greenkeeping team to do the work required on the course. With a start time of 8:00am for example they know that group will be on the 6th hole at about 9:00am.
The tasks that are often completed early in the morning are usually mowing and application of chemicals of which are hindered if there are golfers in the proximity to the task being completed.
We would appreciate member assistance with this by adhering to the tee sheet and corresponding start times.
A Note on Clubhouse Pricing
We appreciate all the members continued support and involvement with the club’s community. Our commitment remains to provide high quality offerings that enhance every visit.
Recently, we have observed significant increases in the cost of various food items, particularly meat and dairy products but like many businesses, we are feeling the impact of continued increases in supplier and operational costs.
While we’ve endeavoured to absorb these rising costs, we find it necessary to implement modest price adjustments in our clubhouse, particularly on food items.
We understand that price increases are never ideal, and we’ve made every effort to keep these changes minimal. There may be some menu changes to remove some items that we know we are not able to pass increases on as they are just too much. So, look forward to some fresh new offerings coming soon.
Kings Birthday Celebrations
