Member Engagement Sessions

Following on from the member survey the next round of member engagement sessions will focus on the course. 

There are a few spots remaining in each available time slot so if you wish to attend please register by Friday 27 June 2025.

Bunker Care - A Shared Responsibility

As mentioned earlier this month, our course team has made bunker improvement a key priority, dedicating extra time and effort to enhance their condition. To ensure these improvements are maintained, we ask for everyone’s help.

We’ve noticed that on some days, bunkers are being left unraked after play. A reminder — taking a moment to care for the bunker after your shot makes a real difference for all who follow.

When raking, please push the sand rather than pulling it towards you. This helps maintain an even surface and keeps our bunkers in the best possible shape.

Below are two images showing recent examples of bunker conditions after play. We encourage all members to take a quick refresher on proper raking technique by watching this tutorial.

Junior Update

Congratulations to George Pogson, winner of the Futures Hawke’s Bay competition held at Napier Golf Club on Sunday, 8th June.

It was fantastic to see such a strong turnout of junior golfers, with players participating across various levels - 18 holes, 9 holes, and a 6-hole Ambrose format—ensuring everyone had a chance to compete and enjoy the day.   The next Futures Hawke’s Bay event is Sunday 20^th July at Maraenui Golf Club (see poster below).

With school holidays approaching the juniors have number of events lined up:

Taranaki Age Groups 1-2 July – Fitzroy and New Plymouth GC

Wellington Eagles Paraparaumu Beach Junior Golf Open – 7^th July

Wellington Age Group Stoke Play Championships 8-9 July – Royal Wellington.  This event is the qualifier for the Wellington Age Grade Matchplay Championships which is held 10-11 at Boulcotts Farm.

Futures Hawkes Bay – Sunday 20^th July Maraenui Golf Club
