Outcome of Special General Meeting – Adoption of New Constitution
Thank you to all those who attended the Special General Meeting held on Monday, 28 July 2025, to consider the adoption of the new Constitution of Hastings Golf Club Inc.
We were pleased with the strong turnout and appreciated the engagement from members, including thoughtful questions and discussion. President Robyn Bell chaired the meeting and provided further clarification around the Management Committee’s decision-making on two key areas – Clause 11.3 (financial limits) and Clauses 20.2 & 20.3 (setting of subscriptions). Committee members Murray McNae and Russell Farmery also contributed supportive commentary on these clauses, further supporting the explanations provided.
Following discussion from the floor, the motion to adopt the new Constitution was put to a vote by ballot. We are pleased to confirm that the motion was passed with 87% of members voting in favour.
Thank you once again to everyone who participated in this important step in the Club’s governance. The new Constitution will now be submitted to the Incorporated Societies Register and will take effect once officially filed.
