Newbigin Foursomes

Last Sunday 72 members played in the 73rd edition of the Newbigin Foursomes.  It was a fantastic turn out again with the weather playing its part.

36 pairs were playing a mixed foursomes stableford competition.  There were some fantastic scores with 11 pairs playing to their handicap or better.

Each group also had three pairs playing for a team prize which was adding all their stablefords together for a team total.  The winning team on a countback with a total of 106 points were Caroline & Michael Rittson-Thomas, Rebecca & Richard Riddell, and Ed & Jenny Kight.  Each winning a bottle of wine kindly donated by the Newbigin family.

In the pairs competition playing for the Newbigin Foursomes Cup it was a very tight battle with eight teams all within two shots at the top of the leaderboard.

Congratulations to everyone that played in this fantastic event.

2025-26 Trinity Hill Summer League

Daylight savings is fast approaching and it's time to start looking at getting your summer league team together.  First in first served!

We are excited to advise members that the 30th Anniversary of the Targa Rally will be concluding at Hastings Golf Club.  This is a unique and great opportunity for our club to host and be part of such an iconic event.

As part of the festivities, we invite you to join in the spirit of the rally and participate in the Targa Golf Day, Sunday 19 October 2025.

Details of the Day

• Shotgun start 8:30am
• Theme: motor racing - dress the part and get into the spirit!
• Format: Teams of Four (register via Golf Genius)
• Complimentary Entry: Thanks to the Ultimate Rally Group, this tournament is free for members.
• Other Inclusions: Along with your entry, a Taste of Targa lunch in the clubhouse, and a prize table for those who make the podium.  (Beverages are members' own cost).

Please note: Due to the nature of the rally and the driveway being used as the final stretch to the chequered flag, the course and property must be closed from 3:00pm onwards for members on this Sunday afternoon.

If anyone wishes to see the rally cars up close, the public event is being held at Mitre 10 Sportspark on Saturday 18 October.

Allocated Tee Times

A note from the Pro Shop - 

Please remember your booked tee time is your tee time.  You must not tee off before the first scheduled tee time of the day because it ensures that the green keeping team have the necessary time to complete their course preparation.  

Early access disrupts essential maintenance tasks such as mowing, rolling, raking bunkers, and setting pins.  All of which are vital to presenting the course in its best condition.  

Respecting these times not only supports the work of the greens staff but also help provide the highest quality playing experience for all members and guests throughout the day.

Congratulations to our Junior Representatives George Bidwell, George Pogson, Luke Jarvis, Ruby Jarvis, and Niamh McGillicuddy who were selected to represent Hawke’s Bay at the Junior Interprovincial Tournaments.

The boys team finished 4^th and the girls 7^th

Tauranga Junior Pro Am – Patch Stafford

After following 17-year-old Cooper Moore (2025 Eisenhower Trophy rep) for the final two rounds of the NZ PGA championship at Hastings in March, Patch Stafford was very lucky to play with Cooper at the Tauranga Junior Pro Am as part of the lead up to the Charles Tour Tauranga Open.  

Playing Ambrose off the junior tees, they finished 10 under after 9 holes after an albatross, eagle start. An amazing experience.
