Spring Update
It’s certainly been a windy start to spring this season! We’ve been keeping a close eye on conditions and, fortunately, there’s only been one occasion so far where we needed to close the course.
As always, the safety of our members is our top priority. If staff ask you to pause play and leave the course, please know this decision is made with everyone’s wellbeing in mind. Your cooperation is appreciated.
One notable casualty of the weather has been a macrocarpa tree along the driveway, which was swiftly taken care of by Scott and his team at CleanCut Tree Care Services — thank you, Scott, for your quick response and for keeping access clear.
While the trees along the driveway may not be the most attractive feature right now, they still play an important role as a safety barrier for errant shots from the driving range.
Golf Genius
By now, you’ll have received an email from Golf Genius introducing the new and improved app. This update makes registering for events even easier – no more GGIDs! All you need is your email address to log in.
To get started:
- Confirm your registration and create a new password.
- Download the latest version of the app from the App Store of Google Play.
- Sign in with your new credentials – it’s a one-time setup.
With planning for the 2026 events calendar underway, this is a great opportunity to move more club competitions to Golf Genius. The app enables live scoring, instant results, and plenty of flexibility for exciting new formats and events.
If you have been hesitant to download and setup rest assured the transition is simple. The benefits include smoother registration, faster updates, and a better member experience.
Click here to watch a short clip and familiarise yourself with the new layout.
If you need help or have any questions, AJ or Brett are happy to assist.
Subscriptions
The first installment of member subscriptions were issued at the start of October and due for payment by 31 October.
If you wish to set up a direct debit payment plan please get in touch with the office.
All members are required to collect new 2025/26 bag tags to be attached to your golf bag. There will be some marshaling throughout summer and it's important for our volunteers who have offered their time to undertake this, that they can identify who you are. If you wish to arrange for your tag to be placed in the pro shop for weekend collection, please email Meg on admin@hastingsgolfclub.co.nz to sort this.
