Course Closed Next Week
A reminder the course is closed next week for coring. Please see further updates below.
Driveway Tree Removal
As noted in the recent President’s Update, the Management Committee has approved the removal of the dead trees along the driveway due to safety risks.
This work is scheduled for next week while the course is closed for maintenance, which will minimise traffic and allow the contractor arborist to complete the work safely. Traffic cones and directions may be in place for any vehicles entering the property. The main driveway is expected to remain open, with trees being felled onto the grassed area; however, reduced speed and extreme caution will be required.
Members intending to collect their clubs to play elsewhere early next week are encouraged to do so before Sunday.
To mitigate the risk of errant golf balls from the driving range, a driving range barrier has been approved to be installed. This will be installed on the western side of the driveway to screen any wayward golf balls. Commencement of this installation will also start next week minimising disruption and allowing the installation to be undertaken safely.
There may be restrictions put on the range use until this is fully installed so, please check with the pro shop before you practice.
Divot Run
With the course closed for play next week, there will be a full-course divot run scheduled for next Friday 20 March – 9:30-11:30am.
We’ll have buckets ready, but please bring along your gloves and a small spade or trowel if you’ve got one.
And of course, no good deed goes unrewarded — the café will be open, and everyone who helps can enjoy a coffee and scone afterwards.
We’d love to see as many friendly faces as possible; please head to the maintenance sheds on arrival. Remember many hands make light work!

Fairways Café|Bar
The clubhouse will be open next week with reduced hours – 9:00am – 4:00pm.
Greenkeepers Update
Herbicide Applications
With temperatures starting to cool but grass still growing well, this is an ideal time of year for our bi-annual herbicide programme.
Recently we have noticed warm-season grasses such as kikuyu and couch starting to creep into some of our tees and fairways, which are primarily made up of brown top. These grasses are not part of our preferred playing surfaces as they can create inconsistent playing conditions and look quite different from the turf we are aiming to maintain.
Over the next couple of months, we will begin treating these areas to remove the unwanted grasses.
During this time, you may notice some bleaching or whitening of patches of grass and weeds. This is a normal part of the treatment process and simply shows the herbicide is working.
There may be a small amount of turf thinning in places while this work is carried out. However, our desired grasses will recover and fill back in with the help of fertiliser and overseeding.
We will also be trialling products to chemically remove paspalum from fairways. If you see some areas looking a little worse for wear, this will be the reason. These areas will recover and grow back to normal over time.
Thank you for your patience while we carry out this work as part of maintaining the best possible playing surfaces for the course.
16th Hole Update
As members have been informed, the 16th hole is currently being looked at for a potential redesign. This has come about as the bunkering around the hole is due for updating, and we felt this presented a good opportunity to reassess the entire green complex.
The aim of the redesign is to create a hole that is visually appealing while remaining fair for all levels of members and visitors. At present, we feel the hole can be too penal for some golfers and too simple for others, so this review allows us to look at ways to improve the balance and overall playability.
We are currently exploring several different options, and further communication will be provided once we move to the next stage of the process.
