Hastings Golf Club to Host 2027 New Zealand Women’s Seniors Championship
Hastings Golf Club is proud to announce that we have been selected to host the 2027 New Zealand Women’s Seniors Championship, to be played:
Monday 22 February – Thursday 25 February 2027
Practice Round: Sunday 21 February 2027
This is a particularly special milestone for our club, as Hastings Golf Club has not previously hosted a national women’s championship event of this scale. Welcoming the country’s leading senior women golfers represents an important step in supporting and celebrating women’s golf at both club and national level.
The New Zealand Women’s Seniors Championship is one of Golf New Zealand’s longest-running national amateur championships and is widely regarded as the premier competition for women aged 50 and over. The tournament regularly attracts a strong national field along with international players, particularly from Australia.
Beyond the competition itself, the event represents something bigger — a celebration of participation, longevity in the game, and the growing visibility of women’s golf.
For Hastings Golf Club, hosting this championship provides a valuable opportunity to showcase our course and facilities to players from across New Zealand and overseas whilst promoting women’s participation in golf. Golf has seen increasing focus on creating welcoming and inclusive environments for women and girls, and hosting this championship allows Hastings Golf Club to play a role in that national effort.
The event will bring more than 130 competitors, officials, and supporters to our club over the tournament week, providing an opportunity to showcase both our course and the hospitality of our members.
Just as importantly, it provides a platform to celebrate the contribution women have made — and continue to make — to the game of golf at Hastings Golf Club and throughout New Zealand.
In the lead-up to the event there will be opportunities for members to become involved as volunteers and supporters to help ensure we deliver a championship that reflects the very best of our club.
We look forward to welcoming players from across the country and celebrating a fantastic week of women’s golf at Hastings Golf Club.
