Hastings Masters Open

The Hastings Masters Open produced a terrific weekend of golf at Hastings Golf Club.

Stuart Duff took out the Open title in impressive fashion, following up an opening-round 69 with a second-round 71 to finish at 4-under par with a two-round total of 140. Stuart’s consistency across both days proved decisive, as he finished five shots clear of the field. Pete O’Donnell made a strong challenge, matching Stuart’s opening 69, but a second-round 76 left him on 145 (+1) and in second place. 

The Women’s event was won by Di Syer with rounds of 79 and 73 to finish the weekend at +4 and take out the Women’s event from Heather Keefe (+11) and Lisa Herbert (+13).

The Men’s 40 -54 Stableford was won by Pete O’Donnell 77 points. Michael Bone took out the 55+ Stableford division with 80 points and Anna Wood won the Women’s Stableford with 70 points.

An interesting add-on event was the Best Ball pairs event which Chris Martin and Pete O’Donnell took out with 93 Stableford points over the weekend.

Congratulations to Ben and the entire greens staff with all the visitors commenting on how great the condition of the golf course and how lucky we are to play here every week! By the sounds of the Saturday night meal, everyone enjoyed the lamb and all the sides too! Thanks to Liz and our F&B team who were involved in the hospitality for the participants.

COURSE CLOSURE

A reminder the course is closed next Monday – Wednesday for course maintenance.

Fairways Cafe|Bar will be open from 9:00am - 2:30pm daily.

DIVOT RUN

We’d love to see any keen volunteers join us for a Divot Run on Wednesday 16th September.

This coincides with our course closure for greens renovations, so with no golfers out on the course we should be able to get around in quickly.

As usual, the café will be open afterwards for a scone and a drink on us as a small thank you for lending a hand.

Please bring along gloves and a trowel if you have them. Everything else will be provided.

The more hands we have, the quicker we’ll get around — and it’s always a great help to the greenkeeping team.
