There are a large number of 2019/20 membership cards still to be collected.  If you have yet to display your current membership card on your golf bag, please call into the office and collect.

 

Trundler ID

We have also produced some bag ID tags for members who store their clubs in a trundler shed.  It is important that this is also added to your golf bag to confirm everyone is parking in the correct space. 

We are gradually working through putting these on clubs in the sheds as best we can, but if you can assist in collecting yours that would be appreciated.

Great to have those members who have signed up committed to this new concept.  We have taken a bit of feedback on the Dinner Club and whilst the preference is for members to join and enjoy all dinners (as each will be a different experience), we do also appreciate that our members like to travel as well!

 

We have therefore loosened the ropes and happy to accept a commitment for at least two dinners.  Any shortfall can be sold prior to each quarter.

We are looking forward to our three-year rotational hosting of the 2020 NZ Men's Strokeplay Tournament 11-15 March 2020.

 

Inquiries have started to come in from players asking for billeting during the week.  If you're able to help out and would welcome some young up and coming golfers into your home for the tournament please get in touch with Fleur on admin@hastingsgolfclub.co.nz so connections can be made.

 

Sign-up sheets will be going up shortly asking for volunteer assistance for scoring, spotting and various other tasks required.  Please add your name to the list if you're able to help out during this week. 

As we head into a new year a timely reminder of the club's hole in one benefit policy, as detailed in the printed programme book.

 

In the event of a player holing in one during a stipulated round of golf they shall receive a gift voucher valued at $150.  In addition, the player will receive a suitably engraved trophy.

 

To clarify, the voucher can be done in one of three ways: 1) a HGC club voucher in which the member can provide a GST receipt and be reimbursed. 2) a credit onto your membership card to be used for hospitality or 3) a credit to the pro shop.

 

 

The Hawke's Bay Golf Referees Association is running a Level 2 Rules Course commencing 23 March 2020.

 

The dates for the Monday courses, to be held at Maraenui Golf Club, are 23 March, 30 March, 20 April, 4 May and 18 May with the exam on 25 May.
