Women's Update
Wow what a finish to our very successful Pennants Season. Congratulations to the Hastings Crossman and Hastings Tuis Teams in winning the Pennants Competitions. Tough matches and a very close finish but an awesome result for our teams. The women’s calendar is busy with Club Championships draw up and Match Play Competitions under way. Please be proactive in organising your matches so we can complete each competition on time. The Hastings Women’s Classic has only a few spots left, what an amazing response we have had.
Midweek Pennants
Hastings Tuis won the Midweek Pennants Match Play Competition. Congratulations to the team members: Fiona Ellis (Captain), Rahira Ellison, Sally Bush, Annabelle Absolom, Kate Barr, Rosemary Burns, Marie Hope, Caroline Rittson-Thomas, Jo Wynne Lewis, Anna Wood, and Martha Manaena
Crossman/Golf Fanatics
Our Hastings Team had a fantastic season winning both the Singles Match Play and 4 Ball Best Ball Competition. Team members: Martha Manaena (Captain), Jane Howie (Vice-Captain), Fiona Ellis, Rahira Ellison, Wendy Nichol, Robyn Kelly, Rosemary Burns, Andrea Percival, Alison Graham, Sandra O’Sullivan, Robyn Stallard, Annabelle Absolom, Leyth Martin and Di Syer.
Tuesday Men v Tuesday Women
Another challenge has been scheduled for Tuesday 16th August. Shotgun start at 9.30am, enter directly with the Pro Shop.
Captains v Presidents
This annual competition is held on Tuesday 23rdth August and is open to 18 Hole and 9 Hole members.
Prizes are for Best Stapleford each Team 18 holes, approaches, and raffles to cover costs. You have the option of entering in the Captains, Presidents team or either team, we will then allocate you to a team in the best interests of the competition.
New Zealand Women's Senior Team – Trans Tasman Tournament
A big congratulations to Diana Syer from Hastings in being selected for the New Zealand Women’s Senior Team. This is a biennial tournament for Senior Ladies (over 55’s) and is the 3rd time it has been held. The format is like the Ryder Cup, four ball best ball, foursomes, final day is singles. The tournament is being held in Hobart, Australia and playing at the Tasmania Golf Club, October 23rd to 25th. The Team members are Robyn Boneface - Captain (Southland), Robyn Pullar (Southland), Robyn Pellow & Jill Morgan (Waikato), Caroline Cressy (North Harbour) and Diana Syer (Hawke’s Bay). We wish the team well.
Senior / Intermediate / Junior / 9 Hole Club Championships
The draw is up in the Women’s Locker room and a reminder the final round should be completed by Sunday 25th September. The finals of the above Championships will be played on Sunday 30th October. The winners will represent the Club at the Champion of Champions hosted by Hastings on Sunday 20th November.
Suzelle Shootout Competition
This annual competition is well underway. You can enter via DotGolf on the day, please pay at the Pro Shop, and remember you must putt all holes. Look forward to seeing more entries and I see some members have recorded great Stableford Scores. Well done.
