Stroke Hole Changes

The stroke holes were last reviewed approx. 18 months ago and this week the golf committee agreed to implement new suggested changes, effective from Friday 2 June 2023.

All scorecards returned are generated into a report and the data is used to reallocate the stroke holes on all the courses based on the average scoring of each hole.

Factors that can alter the stroke changes are weather, course preparation (mowing, rough height, green speed, pin positions), age of golfer playing the tees (remember to play it forward!).

Please take special note of these changes when you draw your next scorecard for play.

Golf New Zealand Tournaments

As you may recall the 2023 NZ Men's Strokeplay was due to be hosted by Hastings Golf Club back in March, however due to the cyclone this was postponed. 

After discussions with Golf NZ and attempts to find another suitable date within the 2023 golfing calendar, unsuccssfully, it was been agreed that the 2023 tournament has been cancelled.  We now roll back into rotation for this event and are scheduled for 2026.

We have confirmed the hosting rights for the very popular 2024 Men's New Zealand Seniors to be held at Bridge Pa 7-10 February 2024.  This is an event that always sells out fast and many of our own members enjoy participating in.  Stuart Duff has his name etched on the trophy a few times! 

We look forward to this tournament which has a good competitive and social blend about it.

This mixed event was held last weekend with a best ball pairs format. 

Congratulations to Andrea Percival and Andrew Coyle with an outstanding best ball score of 47 points.  Second place was Leyth Martin and John Workman on 43 pts and third place, Claire and Guy Turner 41 pts c/b.

This event was also the qualfying for the Tattersall Dixon mixed pairs match play.  The draw for this is on the mixed notice board and deadline dates are published.  Good golfing to those pairs entered.
