Dear Guest,

Ladies, I was discussing the noteworthy rounds of golf at Hastings on Saturday and felt inspired, much like Lady Whistledown gathering knowledge for her social pamphlet of "the ton" in the Bridgerton tv series!

On May 25th, Diana Syer shot an impressive 1 under par! She completed the 18 holes with a total of 73 shots.

Then, on May 30th and June 1st, Louise Sanko achieved a remarkable feat by shooting 78 twice in a row, which is 5 strokes under her handicap!

Congratulations to you both! Please stop by the office, as I have a small prize for both of you.

We had our golf committee meeting last week, there now are some changes to the stroke holes on the course. The evaluation is based on all the cards entered, reflecting how well or not well we all played on the holes. This serves as a good example of why it's important to enter all your cards. The data collected comes from over 3,000 rounds of golf. The hole that you may have found particularly challenging might now give you a shot advantage!

Yellow tees on hole 3 have been moved forward to the front of the tee block.

Regarding the Proffitt Fourball, there have been amendments made to the conditions of play for this competition, which will take effect from 2024.

Please remember if you don’t have a tee time on the day it is a good idea to pop into the pro shop and check you can head out. There could be a two tee start or shotgun start in progress and the pro shop don’t enjoy having to come and ask you to leave the course if you have jumped on.

Overall, we are all pleased with the positive direction the club is heading. We discussed the Men versus Women stableford competition scheduled for Tuesday, August 15th, it will now open to ALL men and women, not just Tuesday players! Enter in the pro shop.  A $5 donation was suggested, all proceeds will go towards Breast and Prostate Cancer. We are grateful to Suzelle Lingerie and Swimwear for kindly sponsoring the raffle!

Kind regards
