Junior Update

It has been a very busy few weeks for the Hastings Golf Club Juniors.

Australian Junior Age Division Golf Championship – Royal Pines April 10-12

Leo Dixon, Leo Huata, Ruby and Luke Jarvis recently returned from the Australian Junior Age Division Golf Championship held at Royal Pines from 10^th – 12^th April.  The event proved to be an invaluable learning opportunity for these young golfers.  The competitiveness of the players was intense and showcased some incredible talent. 

Both parents and juniors were very lucky to have Jasmine Wilson alongside to coach and guide.  Jasmine was on the range each morning, out on the course observing through play and followed up with post round discussions and putting practice.  Great job Jasmine, thank you.

The Hawkes Junior Development Quadrangular and Shand Salver 16-17 April

The Junior Development Quadrangular and Shand Salver took place at Marton Golf Club last week against Manawatu Wanganui, Taranaki and Wellington.  The Shand Salver is made up of teams of 4 players all playing matchplay off the stick.  The Junior Development Quadrangular is made up of teams of 10 players, players 1-5 playing off the stick and 6-10 playing handicap match play.

Wellington won both the Shand Salver and the Development Quadrangular. 

Hawkes Bay were 4th in the Shand Salver and 3^rd in the Development Quadrangular.

George Pogson 2 wins, 1 half

Manawatu-Wanganui Age Groups – 18-19 April

The next event on the agenda was the Manawatu-Wanganui Age Groups held at Feilding Golf Club. The kids will be looking forward to the Hawkes Bay Age Groups.  Yet to be confirmed.

Missing Keys

A number of the Club Cart hire cart keys have been misplaced. If you hire a cart can you pleae check your belongings and return any to the Pro Shop as soon as possible.

Join Us For Pink Ribbon Breakfast

We are excited for this upcoming club event as it's been a while since we have hosted a Pink Ribbon Breakfast.

This is open to all members and guests and we encourage everyone to come along for a breakfast in the clubhouse and for those that wish to partake afterwards the pro shop will be setting up some fun golf activities.

We have had positive support from our suppliers towards the breakfast and we are envisaging all funds will go directly to NZBCF, which is fantastic.

The date is Thursday 23 May at 8:30am - also perfect for our Thursday Men to get in behind and support and have breakfast before your golf.

Remember to dress in pink!

We are using Golf Genius for the registrations as it's extremely easy!  Please just scan the QR code which will take you to Golf Genius, register yourself and your friends if you wish, then payment will be done securely via credit card. 

If anyone needs any assistance in scanning a QR code please pop into the office. 

This is a great new tool and one we hope to roll out for more events.

As the autumnal weather hits and the mornings are getting cooler a timely reminder of the Club's Frost Policy.

Please click here to view.  Any person on the start sheet on a day a frost impacts start will receive a notification via the DotGolf app - please ensure you have notifications turned on.  Any times on the start sheet will be deleted if effected.

Be flexible with your bookings and keep an eye on the weather.  Remember to book later to ensure you are not impacted by any potential lost tee times.
